Those in the UK will know how cold it's been over the last few days. It's been threatening to snow for the last couple of days and last night it really did.
OK, so it's not as bad as you might get in your part of the world, but York doesn't really get snow easily, even when the rest of Yorkshire seems to be snowed in. This is what it looked like outside this morning…

It's a nice reminder of our trip to the Grand Canyon over New Year. But oddly, part of me is really lethargic and unmotivated at the moment. I haven't been able to work properly for the last week. Maybe the last month or so of playing catch-up has worn me out.
I think I need a new project to get me enthused again. I've said before that I've got lots of ideas and lots of things I could be doing, but I think I'm stuck between plodding on with something technical and engaging my brain in doing something really creative – neither of which seem all that appealing right now. What the hell's wrong with me?!
Anyway, something more productive from me soon.

No snow at home, and we’re 1000 ft above sea-level I expect we’ll get some soon though I have seen flakes but nothing heavy enough to settle.
It was late in coming, but we have finally got snow here, too. It’s been snowing almost daily for a week and we now have about 18 inches of the stuff. Not much for a normal winter, though.
It’s not been very cold either, which is good. Today it was -10C, and that’s usually considered to be balmy here in winter. 🙂
@ Robert: Another morning of snow cover here… well, slush cover. It’s odd, last time the rest of Yorkshire had snow, York was clear, but damn cold though!
@ Tommy: I had a feeling you would drop by boasting a knee-deep blanket of snow outside your place! I guess the picture I put up of York looks like summer in Sweden! So, if you’ve got 18 inches of snow, I don’t suppose the skidoo trap that Patrick was talking about is any more likely.
No, but other countermeasures are in place…
Landmines… Well, we now have a pitiful 1-inch of snow but I am not complaining, I was quite happy not to have any.
